WORLDLYTE is a computer program that turns your standard PC into a Lighting Design Work Station. With WORLDLYTE your computer provides a comprehensive and coordinated environment that lets you design lighting systems and show the results to your clients and customers.
WORLDLYTE manages all aspects of your lighting project, from site plan to interior spaces on many levels, from selecting luminaires to writing specifications, from automatic layout of fixtures to color renderings of your results. WORLDLYTE lets you be the lighting professional. WORLDLYTE even makes using your computer fun.
Use a mouse or digitizer to press buttons, draw lines, place fixtures.
Control everything with menus - no hidden keyboard or mouse commands to memorize. Type data into fields while the program checks your typing. Pull up selection lists to make input choices easily.

Place fixtures using the mouse. See fixtures in place as you add them.

See analysis values and contours on screen or on the printer.
See full color shaded perspective renderings on screen. Save renderings as TIFF files. Show gray shaded perspective renderings on your printer. (400 printers supported)
Use fixture photometrics supplied with the program (approved specifiers).
Use external photometrics for any luminaire. IES format is well exercised. CIBS and CIE formats also supported.
Analyze economic alternatives. Compare initial, first year, annual, and life cycle costs. Measure comparative savings. Show return on investment and payback period.
Investigate controlled and dimmed lighting systems.
Show, print, and edit specifications for luminaires in the schedule.
Import DXF files from CAD programs.
Export DXF files back to CAD programs to display or plot results.
Print results as numbers or as scaled plots on your printer or to a file on disk.
WORLDLYTE runs on IBM Compatible PCs with a 80286 or better chip. A math coprocessor recommended. Also required: a parallel port, a hard disk with 7 megabytes available, and a 3 1/2" floppy disk drive (5 1/4" support could be arranged). VGA color monitor recommended. EGA and Hercules monochrome supported. A mouse or digitizer is strongly recommended. A graphics printer is recommended - 400 are supported.
WORLDLYTE runs under DOS 3.1 or higher (or in Windows or OS/2 in a DOS box). WORLDLYTE requires either 540K DOS memory available to programs or 500K DOS memory and 512K EMS memory.
